Support and FAQ

GospelArc is in development and not yet on the App Store. These answers describe the current development build.

Frequently asked questions

When can I get GospelArc?

Not yet. GospelArc is in development: it is not on the App Store, there is no public beta and there is no release date. This website will say when that changes.

Has the study content been checked by experts?

Not yet. All study content in the app — journeys, evidence dossiers, connections, reflections and recall questions — is machine-drafted. It awaits review by qualified historians, theologians and editors before release. Automated fact-check passes on the newer history journeys found and corrected errors in their drafts. More may remain, which is why people must still review all of it. Until then the app shows this note on its study screens: “Editorial draft. This study content has not yet had human historical or theological review.”

Does GospelArc say that a miracle or an apparition really happened?

No. It reports what sources say, who wrote them and when, and states what they do not establish. Miracle accounts are labelled by kind of report, and none is presented as verified. Catholic readings are labelled as faith and attributed; they are not presented as historical fact.

What will it cost?

No price has been set, and the publisher may still change what costs money before release. In the current build, the only purchase is optional and one-time: the Expanded Journey Library, which adds 7 Bible journeys and their 63 recall questions. Everything else in the build needs no purchase: the Bible text with search, highlights and bookmarks, 5 Bible journeys, all 23 history journeys, Origins & Witnesses, Remember for those journeys, source details, connections, notes and routes. It is not a subscription. The App Store would handle the payment.

Which Bible text does it use?

The World English Bible in Catholic book order (eng-web-c) from eBible.org, which eBible.org states is in the public domain. All 73 books are stored in the app, and their wording is not edited. A 66-book option hides the deuterocanonical books; Esther and Daniel still appear as this edition prints them, with their Greek sections.

Do I need an account? Where are my notes?

No account is needed. Notes, highlights, bookmarks, progress and routes are stored on your device, and GospelArc sends them nowhere. There is no iCloud sync, but your own device backup can include them. In Settings, under Privacy, you can export all your data as one JSON file or delete it. See the privacy policy.

Does it work without a connection?

It is built to. The Bible text and all study content are stored in the app, and its code makes no network request of its own apart from links you tap and requests to the App Store about the optional purchase, which need a connection. Nobody has yet run it on a device with the network switched off, so this still has to be checked.

Which devices will it run on?

iPhone and iPad with iOS 18 or later. So far it has run in simulators, and its automated tests on one iPhone.

Which languages does it use?

English only: the app, the Bible text and the study content.

Where do the source links go?

To a page on another website: for some sources the text itself or an edition of it, for others an article or encyclopedia entry that describes it. The current content links to 182 different web host names, Wikipedia among them. A link opens in a Safari view inside the app, and GospelArc adds nothing to it. The citation, dates and limits of each source stay in the app without a connection. No person has checked the links yet, and a page may have moved.

Is GospelArc endorsed by a church?

No. No church, religious institution or Bible publisher has endorsed GospelArc, and Apple does not endorse the app or any interpretation in it.

I found a mistake. How do I report it?

Please write to us with the journey or subroute, the step, and the title of the source. Do not send your private notes: we do not need them.
